Ground Zero

Put very simply, Ground Zero is a local gathering of Christians who have been called to steward flame of passion burning on the inside for Yaweh, the God of the Hebrews, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God and Father of Jesus, and our Abba daddy as children of God.  Holy Spirit had been speaking to Andre Persun, the leader of GZ, in 2017 about the church coming back to the simplicity of the relationship God desires to have with His children.  The Bride of Christ (the Church) is being called to a singular devotion to the Bride Groom (Jesus).  Witnessing the church in America continue to compromise its devotion to God in an attempt to draw a multitude to worship services that are customized to the pallete of the world caused  a "coming out from among them" to begin to grow in Andre's heart.  Preaching the truths of scripture, and beginning to walk in the  footsteps of the Apostles clearly began to set a company of belivers apart from the status quo.  After 18 years of pastoring and traveling to minister in churches along the East Coast, God called Andre to a journey that would bring him out of systematic church.  Thus the birth of Ground Zero.

Currently the GZ family is gathering in different ways as we follow the leading of Holy Spirit.  There are two main focuses found in Matthew 22:35-40:

35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”

37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’[d] 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’[e] 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

What are Ground Zero Gatherings like?

As we gather together, as the church, we aim to give the Father what He wants by fulfilling these two commands.  Currently we meet in homes and Sanctuaries, often eating together when we gather.  We pray, worship, and study the Scripture.  Our goal is to maintain the simplicity of relationship the Lord established in the early church, and allow Holy Spirit to lead us into the things God wants from us for the future.
